Jiffy Express is an open deck carrier specializing in roll tite trailers as well as straight open decks.
We are seeking EXPERIENCED Heavy Duty Truck Mechanic (Level 3/4 or Red Seal/Journeyman) with own tools, looking for long-term employment with a progressive company.
The Role:
- Repair and maintain heavy duty truck and trailer components
- Operate manufacturer computer programs to run diagnostic tests
- Diagnose trouble codes, disassemble engines and other truck components, and examine parts for defects and excessive wear
- Recondition and replace truck parts and components using hand tools, pneumatic tools and precision measuring instruments
- Conduct preventative maintenance inspection of truck-tractor / trailer components
- Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances
Qualifications:
- Level 3/4 Apprentice in “Truck Transportation/ trailer” or Red Seal Journeyman status is required
- Must posses own tools
- Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a team
- Demonstrated knowledge and comprehensive understanding of technology and repair techniques
- Outstanding time management skills with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced work environment and produce positive results with respect for deadlines
- Strong problem solver with the ability to identify problems and implement solutions with keen attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to physically participate in job duties
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Completion of a college/vocational or technical training in Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic is considered an asset
- Valid license required
