The opportunity:
Our Indirect Tax team offers a full range of tax advisory services with respect to GST/HST, QST, provincial sales taxes (PST), US sales tax, VAT, excise taxes, fuel and carbon taxes, and other indirect taxes levied by the provincial and federal governments in Canada.
As a Manager / Senior Manager, you will work closely with KPMG professionals and clients on Indirect Tax matters to research and prepare advice for our clients and support them in their dealings with the taxing authorities.
What you will do:
As a Manager you will be;
- Working directly with our Indirect Tax Senior Managers and Partners to assist our clients in various industries.
- Managing indirect tax projects.
- Researching and preparing technical positions for complicated indirect tax matters.
- Drafting written communications to clients, including memoranda and reports.
- Drafting submissions to the taxing authorities in the context of indirect tax audits.
- Work with other KPMG professionals in indirect tax mandates/clients.
As a Senior Manager, you will be;
- Working directly with our Indirect Tax Partners to assist our clients in various industries.
- Overseeing indirect tax projects.
- Researching and preparing technical positions for complicated indirect tax matters.
- Drafting written communications to clients, including memoranda and reports.
- Drafting submissions to the taxing authorities in the context of indirect tax audits.
- Work with other KPMG professionals in indirect tax mandates/clients.
What you bring to this role:
As a Manager;
- 2-4 years of relevant work experience.
- Professional Accounting, law designation or a Master of Tax is an asset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent research and analytical skills with the ability to effectively apply tax knowledge to client situations.
- Professionalism in the execution of tasks.
- Ability to effectively manage conflicting demands and priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams and meaningfully contribute towards attaining team goals.
As a Senior Manager;
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Professional Accounting, law designation or a Master of Tax is an asset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent research and analytical skills with the ability to effectively apply tax knowledge to client situations.
- Professionalism in the execution of tasks.
- Ability to effectively manage conflicting demands and priorities.
