Job Description

This role will work on cutting-edge technology that makes a positive impact on the environment.

Daanaa is currently looking for a senior power electronics designer with expertise in one or several the following areas:

Microinverter Power Electronic
Inverter Control Circuits
Grid-tied and off-grid microinverter standards, compliance, and regulatory challenges

The mission of this role is the design, verification, and validation of microinverters that optimize and restructure solar panel systems to the world’s largest and fast-growing clean tech platforms. This full-time role is based in Vancouver, BC, and reports directly to the VP, Research & Development.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out full microinverter design cycle which spans circuit design and verification.
Innovative transistor-level design of analog and mixed-signal circuits for new and derivative smart power management functions for renewable energy source applications.
Design and modification of electronic analog hardware, systems, and PCBs.
Verify PCB layouts to ensure compliance with job requirements, safety standards, and EMI standards.
Work with product design lead and circuit design team on defining microinverter requirements, DFM and reliability checks.
Prototype proof-of-concepts including hands-on testing. Development will include extensive hands-on testing with boards developed either in-house or by partners/customers, using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzer and another test equipment.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a power electronic engineering discipline
Strong foundations in power electronics: high-frequency (>1MHz) multi-phase switching converters, cycloconverters, theoretical and practical limitations of HF transformer, and controller algorithms of switching converter.
5+ years of work experience in architectural design and schematics of solar PV systems or power electronics and electrical system.
3+ years of hands-on experience in testing and verifying switching converters including microinverters.
3+ years of design experience using one of the analog/power HF circuits simulation tools.
3+ year of experience in validate and deliver advanced control algorithm for switching converters.
