Estimator
Responsibilities:
This is an opportunity for one to become a respected, key member of the Estimating and Sales team, your contributions will lead to the continued success and growth of the company. Principal responsibilities of the Estimator include but are not limited to:
- Complete take-offs of all materials and labour required to complete the project as per contract specifications and drawings
- Liaison with customers and vendors to establish and maintain strong working relationships. Communicating with customers on technical questions for specific projects.
- Develop customer proposals incorporating any feedback from Production Control, QA/QC or Welding Manager
- Follow-up with Customers regarding proposals for potential sale on a scheduled basis
Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering Technology or equivalent Degree/Diploma
- Five (5) years of experience in a steel fabricating environment
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, MS Office, especially Excel with familiarity with Access
- Experience with reading drawings and interpreting specifications
- Familiarity with a variety of steel and steel alloy products
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as welding in its many forms, NDE and various forms of shaping and machining metal
