The Position:
Registered Respiratory Pulmonary Function Technologist, (RRT)
The Role:
Are you a patient focused Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with excellent clinical skills. We are hiring 1 permanent Part -Time position which focuses on PFT testing in our Clinic
The Responsibilities Include:
PLEASE ENSURE YOU ARE CERTIFIED BY A CANADIAN INSTITUTION PRIOR TO APPLYING ONLY THOSE WHOM MEET THIS CRITERIA WILL BE CONTACTED
· Prepare PFT testing rooms for the day including calibrations
· Greets checked-in patients in a friendly and professional manner from the waiting room
· Screen patients for PFT contraindications, confirming the patient’s responses on the PFT intake questionnaire
· Confers with patient in treatment room to explain test procedures.
· Performs Pulmonary-Function testing using Our Systems
· Monitor patients comfort and safety while conducting testing
· Complete PFT reports, ensure accuracy of testing procedures and Pulmonologists’ interpretations
· Perform quality assurance procedures as per PFT manual
· Communications with the Pulmonologist on duty
· Retrieve interpreted PFT results and provide them to an MOA for processing.
· Scanning and linking patient documents into charts and auditing to ensure accuracy.
· Maintains work areas in a clean and orderly condition and ensures the testing rooms are properly supplied and operational at all times.
· Maintains patient privacy and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
· Works with an interdisciplinary team and other support staff to provide optimal patient care. Administrated by Clinic Manager
The Requirements:
- Successful graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program, registered and in good standing with CARTA
OR
- Successful graduation from a certified Cardiopulmonary program, registered and in good standing with CACPT
- Current BLS certification
- Ability to work well independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with all team members and patients
- Detail oriented, good planning and organizational skills
- Clean Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Sector
- Full COVID-19 immunization status
