OSG is looking for an energetic and eager-to-learn Junior Health & Safety Trainer to deliver engaging and high-quality training to our clients in Kitchener-Waterloo and its vicinity.
Reporting to the Program Manager of Training, the Junior Trainer will be responsible for delivering and facilitating in-person and virtual courses with a focus on Joint Health and Safety Certification (JHSC) and First-Aid Certification courses. You will be the face of OSG, ensuring courses are delivered with the highest quality and consistency every time. This will also be a great opportunity for you to learn and apply adult learning principles to ensure a positive and engaging learning experience for our clients.
This role is a great fit for those who have recently graduated or are just starting out in the health and safety industry. New to training? Not a problem! As an organization focused on exceptional facilitation, we will provide in-depth training to enable your success as our Junior Health & Safety Trainer.
This is a hybrid role, involving remote work-from-home virtual course facilitation and in-person course facilitation at client sites and other third-party locations. The ability to travel is required for this position and is based on client needs. Additionally, the ability to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, early mornings, and overnight shifts is a must. A valid driver’s license is required, as well as a private and professional home office with reliable internet access.
What will you do?

Facilitate both in-person and online training courses to audiences across different industries while applying adult learning principles and best practices

Leverage any industry knowledge and practical experience to accurately answer participant questions with sensitivity, professionalism, and inclusivity in mind

Ensure administrative requirements are completed accurately and in a timely manner, including timesheets, expenses, etc.

Provide feedback to internal teams to ensure seamless, accurate, and meaningful content delivery to clients
What do we look for?

Post Secondary Education in Occupational Health and Safety
-
1+ year experience in the Health and Safety Industry, and/or participating on a Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC)

Adult Education and/or First Aid Certification would be considered a strong bonus

Understanding and knowledge of legislation including but not limited to the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Canadian Standards Association, the Canada Labour Code, and other applicable Health and Safety regulations

Proficiency using Google Suite, with demonstrated tech-savviness and willingness and ability to embrace new technologies
Additional Requirements

Valid Ontario Drivers license with unrestricted access to operating a motor vehicle

Ability to travel across Southwestern Ontario, as needed to visit client sites
