We are seeking passionate and energetic teachers for the Fall to add to our teaching roster that complement our already growing staff of teachers. We welcome applicants of all instruments but are specifically looking for violin, guitar, voice, and piano.
Since 2016, Chatham Music Academy has been offering quality music instruction in the form of private lessons and group classes to students of all ages across Chatham-Kent. Our goal is to create a safe and inspiring environment for students to achieve their musical and creative potential and ensures that each student has a positive, exceptional musical journey.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Teach students fundamentals of music by using prescribed method books and materials based on instrument and student ability
- Create and Document thoughtful lesson plans through Academy’s content management system for students and parents to see Demonstrate strong time management and organizational skills to keep students on task in a lesson
- Communicate regularly with parents on the progress of students.
- Assist in the planning and execution of semester recitals
Skill Requirements:
- A Formal education in music, RCM credentials, and/or teaching experience is preferred
- An understanding of music concepts and be able to communicate those concepts effectively to students
- A strong understanding of music theory and technique relevant to primary instrument
- A passion for teaching a wide range of students with varying abilities
- An ability to be resourceful and a good problem-solver are an asset
- Must be able to provide a police clearance if successful
Chatham Music Academy offers the opportunity to work a flexible part time schedule in a fun environment with other like-minded musicians. We handle the marketing, scheduling, booking, billing, and other business aspects of the lessons & group classes so that you can focus on teaching. Our building is state of the art and includes large studios, real instruments, waiting rooms, group spaces, and more. We offer an above-average hourly rate that is based on education, experience, and expertise.

Contract length: 10 months
Salary: $30.00-$34.00 per hour
