As a Manager, Onboarding & People Experience with Vancouver Coastal Health you will:

Provide leadership and direction to the VCH Talent Onboarding team in the administration, maintenance and monitoring of the integrated services with Talent Acquisition and People Experience.

Play a critical role in enhancing the overall employee journey by developing and implementing innovative onboarding programs and fostering a positive workplace culture.

Drive the onboarding process, and create exceptional experiences for staff throughout the employee journey, talent acquisition and onboarding processes across Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH).

Perform a leadership role in the development, coordination, maintenance and continuous improvement of an effective, efficient and consistent onboarding framework and processes across VCH, inclusive of strategic and innovative approaches and the systems to support it.

Promote a safe and healthy workplace by enhancing existing services and developing new initiatives, to implement programs that support employees and leaders with successful workplace orientation services, and collaborates with internal and external partners as appropriate.

Liaise with other managers and maintain engagement and communication with internal and external partners such as Human Resources, Labour Relations, Talent Acquisition, Clinical Education, Healthcare Benefit Trust (HBT), the Health Employers Association of BC (HEABC), healthcare unions and VCH management to achieve desired program outcomes.

Provide leadership and direction to professionals and support staff within the portfolio, and acts as a key organizational resource to senior executive members, directors and managers.

Qualifications:
Education & Experience
-
Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, plus recent and relevant experience in health human resources, with a focus on onboarding and employee experience.

5 years of progressive leadership experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
-
Project management and/or experience supporting strategic initiatives, providing leadership, facilitation, support and coordination for designated projects considered an asset.

Practices the recognition, inclusion and support of all types and aspects of diversity at all stages of engagement, with an understanding of the issues faced by people from equity-deserving groups, including those who experience intersectional barriers.

Develops and maintains strong relationships with key internal and external partners to promote and enhance services provided with sensitivity to diversity and indigenous lens

Proven ability to design and implement successful onboarding programs and employee engagement initiatives.

Strong understanding of relevant HR regulations, compliance, and best practices in the healthcare context.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships at all levels of the organization.

Proficient in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Exceptional organizational and project management skills.

Creative problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to HR challenges.

Demonstrated ability to lead, facilitate and consult effectively with a variety of audiences and interested parties.

Proven time management and organizational skills.

Advanced skill in current computer applications (word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and database) and advanced proficiency working with human capital management systems (HCMS).
Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
