Reporting to the Associate Registrar, International & Domestic Student Recruitment the Manager, Student Recruitment – Canadian Markets provides leadership in support of Sheridan’s strategic directions and enrolment management, as well as Office of the Registrar business plan and departmental goals and objectives in collaboration with academic and registrarial partners. The manager works collaboratively with various colleagues across the college to lead the design, implementation and evaluation of recruitment strategies and programs that promote Sheridan as a higher learning institution of choice for existing and prospective students, with the goal of recruiting students for whom Sheridan is the right fit, leading to student success and retention.
What You’ll be Doing
Managing and delivering student recruitment operations with the support of a team of professionals focusing on both domestic and international prospective students including:
Researching target audiences by collecting and analysing a variety of data and information and monitoring directions and changes in the education community.
Monitoring admissions, educational and demographic trends; Collaborating with Recruitment and OTR leadership to develop projections for program demands and targets/maximums.
Overseeing the design, development, implementation, and monitoring of student recruitment strategies, programs and initiatives to achieve student enrolment targets.
Forecasting and taking/managing appropriate promotional actions to maintain a competitive edge in attracting and retaining students within the Sheridan community.
Monitoring the effectiveness of recruitment initiatives for continuous improvement
Leadership
Providing direction to multi-disciplinary teams of professionals supporting the planning and implementation of extensive outreach including territory and account management within a variety of Canadian markets. These teams will focus on recruitment from secondary school markets, non secondary and working with newcomers and on shore international students.
Supporting the On Campus and Online Student Recruitment and Engagement Team who are tasked with creating informative and engaging activities related to student recruitment.
Additional Activities
Developing engaging and strategic communication plan(s) to ensure that important and relevant information is available to prospective students, faculty, staff, and clients.
Leveraging technology to maximize prospective student data (i.e. lead collection and follow up), event management, and communication and leading teams in undertaking system enhancement projects.
Providing consultation, guidance and advice to Sheridan academic management, faculty, students, staff, and external clients on domestic student recruitment issues; Serving on a variety of internal and external committees, taskforces, and meetings.
Participating as a member of the Office of the Registrar (OTR) management team in departmental strategic planning activities.
Providing leadership, guidance and direction to staff and team members, and optimizing team performance.
Leading development, management and reporting of portfolio/unit capital and operating budgets.

The successful candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in education, business, or related discipline along with 5 years of related work experience in post-secondary education, in an enrolment management function. (Or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience)
Additional qualifications include:
Management experience with the demonstrated ability to lead, supervise, motivate, empower, and develop staff as a high performance data-driven team
Prepare work plans, establish meaningful priorities, and maintain high quality of service.
Demonstrated knowledge of post secondary educational and management structures and student recruitment practices.
Expertise developing and implementing marketing and promotional programs.
Experience working with a Customer Relationship Management System
Experience researching, collecting, and analyzing of data
Proven budget preparation/management skills and ability to develop and recommend creative solutions to address fiscal pressures.
Analytical and complex problem-solving skills including the ability to analyze trends and patterns of changing business/client needs and adapting strategies, programs, policies, and practices accordingly.
Proven ability to develop policies, procedures and processes and training.
Experience developing online/web content and in social media curation, copy writing and marketing materials.
Well-developed change management skills.
Ability to travel – including extensively across the province.
