What You Will Get To Do:

Review and prepare tax provisions and returns for hedge funds, and private equity funds that are structured as trusts and partnerships
-
Conducting, documenting, and reviewing various tax research matters applying the information determined to advise on planning opportunities and tax compliance matters

Liaise with investment fund managers and audit firms during their audit and review process

Advice clients and internal parties on tax related matters

Review and prepare annual HST/GST/QST filings as they relate to entities that are considered Selected Listed Financial Institutions

Develop technical skills by remaining up to date on tax legislations changes and tax authority decisions as they relate to the broader asset management industry

Participate fully as a member of the Canadian tax team and contribute to a positive work environment

Support the growth and development of other junior tax staff members
What You Will Bring:
-
Undergraduate accounting, finance or equivalent degree
-
Possess or working towards a CPA designation
-
A minimum of 4 years of Canadian tax experience
-
High proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience working with tax software
-
Strong analytical skills with ability to work independently, under pressure, and with attention to detail to meet deadlines
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-
Tax and accounting experience in the financial services sector, specifically in the asset management, private equity and or real estate industry is an asset
