The Opportunity
The primary purpose of the Talent Acquisition Manager is to ensure the College has the talent to succeed and that future employees have the right characteristics to fit in well with the organization. The Talent Acquisition Manager leads the Talent Acquisition team in finding, recruiting, and hiring talented candidates by assessing their suitability for open positions. The Talent Acquisition Manager also oversees the planning, development, and implementation of an effective Talent Acquisition strategy for the organization.
Key Responsabilities:
- Provides coaching and mentorship to the talent acquisition team.
- Provides recruitment guidance and advice to the Talent Acquisition team and hiring managers using employment and hiring data.
- Participates in the interviewing process and making recommendations to hiring managers.
- Collaborates with hiring managers.
- Creates a sustainable talent acquisition strategy.
- Leads internal hiring efforts, which includes assessing existing employees within the organization for senior roles.
- Performs analysis of hiring needs and provides employee hiring forecasts.
- Utilizes the internal Applicant Tracking System, Assessment tools, and job boards such as LinkedIn and/or, Indeed, social media, and the internet.
- Designs, plans, and executes employer value proposition activities.
- Plan procedures for improving the candidate experience.
- Uses metrics to create reports and identify areas of improvement.
- Suggests measures for improving employee retention.
- Conducts employee satisfaction surveys.
- Maintains detailed files on job candidates.
- Manages the employee referral programs.
Other duties as assigned, and which are in the best interests of the College.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
- Proven experience as talent acquisition
- In-depth knowledge of full-cycle recruiting, sourcing, and employer branding techniques.
- Familiarity with a variety of different selection methods (interviews, assignments, psychological tests, etc.)
- Hands on experience in the use of social media and job boards.
- Willingness to understand the duties and competencies of different roles.
- Working knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems and databases.
- Ability to motivate employees.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Strong knowledge of employment law.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, & Teams) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
Experience:
- A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, or relevant field.
- CHRP (Certified Human Resources Professional) is preferred and CHRL (Certified Human Resources Leader) is an asset.
- Minimum 3 years of talent acquisition experience with a high volume employer. One year experience in management role is preferred.
- Experience with recruiting for multiple and varied roles is considered an asset.
Other:
- A reliable vehicle, valid provincial driver’s license, and credit card.
- A designated home office with a strong internet connection is required.

Location and Hours of work:
This is a hybrid role working from your home office as well as the Campus Support Centre in Mississauga. Travelling to various locations may be required based on the needs of the business.
The hours of work are 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
