Reporting to the Manager, Health, Safety, Environment and Regulatory (HSER), this position is responsible for supporting Campus Energy Operations with coordinating regulatory and environmental permitting and reporting activities across the company.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Coordinate the regulatory applications process for new applications, renewals and amendments
- Maintain knowledge of applicable regulations, conduct regulatory assessments, and provide regulatory interpretations and guidance to operations and senior management
- Analyze and assist in communicating changes to regulatory environment
- Develop and review implementation strategy to demonstrate compliance with environmental requirements
- Support the development and implementation of the Campus Energy Management System to help ensure compliance with regulation
- Plan and coordinate remediation and reclamation work and manage liability rating programs
- Manage vendors completing facility air, groundwater and soil monitoring programs
- Compile and submit regulatory reports required under Provincial and Federal Regulations and Directives
- Other responsibilities and duties as required
Qualifications:
- Technical science degree or diploma
- 5+ years’ related industry experience
- Environmental Professional (EP) designation is considered an asset
- Working knowledge of federal and provincial environment & regulatory Acts, Regulations, Guidelines, Directives and Rules (BC, AB & SK)
- Confident, detail oriented with superior communication, analytical, and problem solving skills
- Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple priorities under tight deadlines; works well under pressure in a fast-paced work environment
- Flexible and able to manage multiple priorities, taking on new responsibilities as required
