City Projects is a premier full scope wall and ceiling contractor with an active woodshop that is seeking experienced support. We modify and create high end doors and frames for our many ongoing projects, as well as specialty unique items as needed. A high level of focus and attention is required for management of multiple pieces across many different job projects.

Preferred experience and skills:
Experience with milling out for various handle sets and locking systems, including electric strikes, mortise cassettes, hidden door closers, drop seals and other non typical or commercial/institutional typical hardware systems
Experience with creating custom door frames from scratch stock
Deducing information from door schedules, shop drawings, site photos and targeted questioning of site foreman and supervision staff.
Experience with managing inventory, staff and tight deadlines
Mastery of typical shop tools, machines and safe work practices
Recognized certification as a Joiner or Finishing Carpenter and 10 years of experience preferred; 5-8 years of joinery or wood shop experience required.
Minimum needed experience and skill (to keep your resume from going directly to the bin):
Significant residential finishing carpentry experience including milling doors and frames for handle sets, lock sets and hinges
Creating and installing experience of base and crown mouldings.
Experience leading and training new workers
Minimum of 5 years of wood shop experience
Our current Wood wizard is nearing retirement and while it pains us to imagine the woodshop and our operations without him, we are dedicated to continuing our tradition of precision and cooperation.
