OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
We are hiring a talented Hose Technician to join our team in our Calgary office. If you're excited to be part of a winning team, Echelon Supply and Service is a great place to grow your career. The Hose Technician will have a strong mechanical aptitude and build various hose assemblies; includes, but is not limited to hydraulic, industrial and specialty hoses. The successful candidate will continually strive to provide exceptional customer service and exceed every client’s expectation. You have the right attitude towards customer interaction from a front counter role which will occasionally include dealing with customers by telephone and your primary focus is to educate the customer from service to sales inquiries (we will train you on this knowledge base).
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assembling industrial & hydraulic hoses;
- Visually inspect completed assemblies;
- Interact with customers and fulfill their product requests/needs;
- Stock handling and inventory managing;
- Picking and packaging customer orders;
- Loading/Unloading trucks;
- Maintaining a clean and organized workspace;
- Pressure test hose to ensure accurate, safe and quality made assemblies;
- Complete miscellaneous shop duties as required;
- Order desk duties will include assisting in the above along with day to day office duties, interacting with other branches, placing orders, assisting customers on the phone and counter sales.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Positive attitude toward customer and co-worker interaction;
- Customer service oriented;
- Multi-tasking capabilities with problem solving skills;
- Must be capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines;
- Prior hose industry experience is an asset;
- Enjoys a physically demanding environment that includes heavy lifting and moving constantly throughout your shift;
- Contribute to a safe and environmentally responsible workplace by following all safety and environmental policies while taking an active approach to accident prevention and environmental protection;
- Valid Driver’s License required with clean abstract / reliable transportation to and from work.;
- Ability to learn and function fluently with in house computer software;
- Contribute to an upbeat atmosphere in the workplace by supporting and aiding all team members;
- Excellent communication skills, a mechanical aptitude and detail oriented with a desire to learn.
