Main Duties and Responsibilities

Disciplinary and/or functional management of employees
-
Coordinating and assigning employees as per the qualification matrix, coordinating tasks within the shift
-
Coordinating shift changes
-
Maintaining shift-related information in the shop floor management
-
Recording and working through instances of wastage and potential improvements in production and the organizational structures
-
Ensuring compliance with workplace instructions (e.g. break times, smoking ban, alcohol, reporting in sick, dealing with accidents in the workplace)
-
Responsible for the instruction and training of employees (incl. initial instruction in occupational safety)

Ensuring and complying with work-related regulations
-
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
-
Grade 12 OAC or equivalent, post secondary education desirable i.e. technical degree or diploma.
-
Supervisory experience in a union environment.

Working knowledge of the quality control requirements of the jobs in operations; familiarity with operating methods, inspection procedures and gage checks.

Strong knowledge of robotic lines, strong leadership skills.

Knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation
-
Computer knowledge and sound organizational skills.
