The Organization:
LGM is a national leader in providing warranty, finance and insurance services to the Canadian automotive industry. Since 1998, LGM has been successfully supplying quality products and leading training solutions to over 1,200 Canadian franchised new car dealerships. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Senior Accountant is responsible for:
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepares journal entries
- Responsible for maintaining and updating balance sheet continuity and lead schedules
- Update & prepare daily cash flow information for bank accounts (cheque runs, daily online bank transactions, funds transfers, miscellaneous deposits)
- Prepare weekly and monthly bank reconciliations
- Prepares financial reports and account variance analysis
- Review Accounts Payable batches and ensure appropriate general ledger coding
- Responsible for maintaining and updating balance sheet continuity and lead schedules
- Responsible for reconciling and remitting sales taxes
- Take part in interim and annual audit
Required Skills:
- Well organized and able to keep accurate and timely records
- Ability to adapt quickly to a changing work environment
- Proficient with MS Office suite of products
Education:
- Recent CPA designate or enrolled in CPA
Experience:
- 4+ years in an accounting/finance environment.
