Position Overview:
The Pneumatic/Hydraulic Assembler/Technician is required to assemble pneumatic and hydraulic parts from drawings produced by the Engineering department as well as be responsible for repairing Paprima equipment at the customers’ location by providing high quality, on-site customer service through troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of the equipment.
Major Responsibilities: SHOP
- Read drawings
- Assemble components (hoses, etc.)
a. Collect and assemble hydraulic and pneumatic parts
- Test components Test for functionality
- Test for leaking
- Measure for defects or bad installation
- Complete the checklist report for testing of each circuit
- Record temperatures
- Responsible for the quality control
- Maintain cleanliness of controls and pumps
- Prepare components for shipping
- Produce repair estimates for customers Prepare estimates for pumps and/or component for customers (identify replacement parts) * Submit repair estimates to Spare Parts Sales Representative
- Perform metal operations such as: *Glass beading, metal cutting and bending, grinding, drilling, milling, machining.
Major Responsibilities: FIELD*
- Repair mechanical and electrical equipment Participate in assembling mechanical and/or electrical components at the Paprima plant if needed
- Perform mechanical/electrical repairs on Paprima equipment at customers’ sites
- Control troubleshooting by managing software programs Read existing programs * Perform software adjustments, as needed
- Upload and download programs
- Prepare and complete all necessary paperwork for invoicing of service time and goods including: Packing lists for spare parts and field time sheets
- Customer Management Execute equipment tests in the factory, before shipping and again at the client site
- Prepare for site visits by documenting where possible ensuring all tools and parts are accounted for: Produce and issue client visit reports internally and to the client no later than 2 days after the service has been rendered * Train customers on the safe operation and maintenance of Paprima equipment
- Participate in the clients’ safety and security training sessions
- Recommend ways to optimize procedures and the use of Paprima equipment
- Conduct yourself in a polite, respectful and professional manner at all times
- Follow up with customer via email and/or telephone to ensure equipment is running properly and that they are extracting the most benefit from Paprima products
- Answer customer inquiries for technical assistance
- Follow and update the customer equipment maintenance schedule
- Where possible, promote available Paprima services, equipment and spare parts
- Participate in project closing meetings
- Other related tasks not listed above upon supervisor requestQualifications:
- Knowledge and experience working with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical components.
- Bilingual, French and English.
- Ability to read mechanical and electrical industrial drawings.
- Valid driver’s license and Canadian passport without travel restrictions.

Physical Demands & Working Environment:
Physical demands: Standing for long periods of time, bending, lifting, crouching, able to lift up to 70 pounds, excellent manual dexterity, able to work
with hand, measuring and inspection tools, heavy industrial
drills.
Working environment: Clean, dust-free production area, subject to some noise. Varying on-site conditions including noise, dust, dirt, hot temperatures and humidity.
25% or more local and international travel as required.
